They chat about the advantages of being female in ultra-running, smarter race strategies, not going out too fast and of course less ego!
They talk about scheduling training sessions around a busy life with full time work and raising young kids. Also allowing for their partners to train. Note if you miss your session, you don’t get it back! They both appreciate the time running because it gives them a break from the kids.
Sarah chats about her recent holiday in France, a guided running tour in the Alps of Mont Blanc to celebrate her 30th birthday. She chats about the challenging trails and the 230km covered over ten days (there’s not much flat running).
Lisa chats about obtaining a stress fracture leading up to UTA100 and how she managed to cross train for the event and still do an impressive time (14:23) with very little running.
The girls chat about coaching and the value of being coached, training programs, upcoming events, Coastal Classic, race strategies and race nutrition.
They chat about the importance of running to help manage wellbeing and mental health.
I hope you enjoy this informative, light-hearted interview.
